In my work as a Curriculum Educational Technology Facilitator, I am constantly looking for inspirational videos to share with colleagues. One such video came across the QIAT listserv that really had me excited. It was the TED talk given by Ron McCallum.
Helping teachers and administrators see how to work in an Inclusive Educational System is an ongoing process, but if we are able to look at the research, review strategies and supports and then share a few inspiration stories….I believe we can make a difference in the students we serve.
Ron was born 65 years ago when technological advances for blind people were very limited in nature. His personal and professional story celebrates the progression of amazing tech tools, people and assistive technologies that have made it possible for Ron to be successful and respected in his academic field and in life. (He even came to Canada to attend University!)
Enjoy….think about how you and your colleagues can enable and engage ALL students via some of the available tools granted by technology.
